Yesterday was cabinet install day. The cabinets were delivered and stored in the kitchen and some amount of installation was done, but it was difficult to take pictures due to the excess floorspace being used as storage. But as of today all the cabinets are up and installed, as well as the center island has been placed. The room isn’t looking so voluminous anymore, but it’s nice to finally see the room take real shape and start to look like a kitchen. Wall colors are now showing contrast to the cabinet colors, and so far not turning out badly. One small flaw being that our microwave convection oven is so old that nobody carries the cabinet trim for it anymore. But all in all, that’s temporarily correctable, if not a hidden ‘oh well’ (for now at least). But as remodels go, it will be interesting to see the full array of pictures once the final products is snapped…
