haupia trifle

So I think to my self, ‘trifle‘. It seems like the word ‘trifle‘ is more of an adjective or a verb from what I remember. But apparently it’s a ‘something’, and a pretty appetizing sounding ‘something’ at that. In my daily search for different haupia recipes, I came across an interesting recipe for haupia trifle. Now at first I thought this to be just a cute name for the recipe. But in looking the word up in Wikipedia (because Wikipedia is the default definition of all that is real), yielded an actual primary hit. Trifle is actually a desert of some sort. “A trifle is a dessert dish made from thick (or often solidified) custard, fruit, sponge cake, fruit juice or, more recently, gelatin, and whipped cream. These ingredients are usually arranged in layers with fruit and sponge on the bottom, and custard and cream on top”. I now have kml to thank for improving my vocabulary, and introducing yet another wonderful recipe for haupia. If someone ends up trying this recipe, please post back and and let me know what you thought of it. Otherwise enjoy the jump of true coconutiness – by Coconut girl (kml)
